Only Love can renew our thoughts

Love rescues us from the darkness that tries to rob us of our divine peace. As the Lord fills us with his love, our thoughts are renewed and we enjoy peace that exceeds all understanding.

It is this new nature, from God, who is love, that we can now put on. So let’s seek to say only what is good and helpful, so that our words may be an encouragement to those who hear them.

Finding cure in divine forgiveness and Love

When I was an atheist, two psychologists helped me navigate and cope with a series of life events that crushed me. But they never healed me. I never healed until I surrendered to Love.

To say that I was hanging by a thread would be an understatement. And although I have a lot of appreciation for deeply humane and loving psychologists like the ones who helped me, there’s only so much they can do.

I couldn’t imagine myself going one week without therapy. At that point I felt emotionally crippled. My life was a full-time burden.

That’s when I did the unimaginable. One night I surrendered and asked God for help. Being an atheist, I had no idea what I was doing. But I had a crushed, humble heart as I called him. And God listened.

God healed overnight what two different psychologists couldn’t heal in years.

For the first time in my life I knew that there was one who loved me just the way I always wanted to be loved. And his divine love set me free.

God’s love worked in me to forgive others who had been the root cause of a lot of emotional turmoil in my life. And he also taught me to forgive myself.

Without God’s love, I could never have healed.

It is his divine and eternal love in me that makes it possible to forgive everyone and the world everyday, regardless of merit. And heal.

I Love, therefore I Am

Love is the I Am. The almighty power that created the universe and gave us the divine ability to be conscious of ourselves.

We know Love when we believe in it, seek it first in the spirit and express it by loving one another.

Love makes it possible for us to love those who love us, those who hate us and everyone in between.

If you love only those who love you, why should you get credit for that? Even sinners love those who love them!

Jesus via Luke

When we are fearful or afraid, Love is lacking in us, so we cling to the world. But the world and everything in it is going to pass.

U2 faithfully sings it in their worship song Love is all we have left.

I wanted the world but you knew better
And that all we have is immortality

Jesus teaches us that love has no fear, because perfect Love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.

God is Love. Anyone who knows Love lives in peace and makes a conscious decision to love others, regardless of merit.

We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.

Jesus via John

Nothing can separate us from the love of God except our own freedom to deny him. But why would we?

When we know Love and live in Love, we know God.

Love is God’s imprint on our spirit.

Only Love can conquer hatred

A rhetoric of peace and justice might carry political power, but it is powerless in its inability to transform people.

The systems of this world are in place largely to crush others in order to make them pay for what they have done to us. When we focus on exposing, shaming and condemning others, we are only sowing resentment, bitterness, anger and hatred. And we will certainly reap what we sow.

A message or movement of peace cannot be founded on principles of condemnation. When it does, it will achieve condemnation, but never peace.

When we genuinely want peace, we surrender to love – God’s love, forgive out of our loving heart and are freed from hatred.

Real justice comes from Love

I am sure we would all love to live in a just world. Justice itself is such a powerful word that we love throwing around because it reminds us that, in every situation, there is a right thing to do.

The tricky part about justice is that we know very well that none of us are in a good position to define what is just, and what is unjust.

Since we know that real justice comes from love – because God is love – we should invest in forgiveness and leave the judgment to God.

Jesus teaches us to forgive everyone, regardless of meritGod forgave you and me without merit, so out of love for God, and through His divine love, the only true love, we can also forgive one another regardless of merit. 70×7.

When we trust God’s justice, we receive rest through his grace. Trust that He is all good and that when, how and where are in His hands.

Enter into grace and stand in it

B.C. (before Christ) and A.C. (after Christ) quite literally define diametrically opposed periods in my life. As I celebrated my “earthly” birthday on May 23rd, I could not help but notice how hard it is to look at time the same way as most others do.

Yes, I know I am celebrating a birth date. But at the same time, the “age” that actually impacts my life started counting from my conversion, on January 5th 2014.

So what should I say to people, that I am 6 years old? Perhaps I could, except my conversion aged me by making me far more mature, spiritually. So, in a way, I actually feel closer to 60.

Since I entered into grace and chose to stand in it, I have found myself routinely challenging the categories and systems of this world. Age is but one of them.

Most importantly, as I stand in grace, I know that I will never fit in anywhere in this world. But instead of feeling defeated by that realization, I am driven by a compelling sense of belonging.

And I am infused by the unconditional love that explains the meaning of my life, where I came from and where I am going.

So where do I belong? Where I am eternally loved.

Becoming a home to Love

True spirituality is a holistic, transformational rebirth that shatters our worldly ways. You know it’s true when this spirituality unfolds as a personal relationship with the One who made us and loves us unconditionally.

As spiritual beings, we don’t need a group or a place to come in contact with him, because he already makes his home in us. While it’s wonderful to meet others like us, we are also here to be the salt of the earth, not in the bubble of a denomination.

When we are given an experience that reveals the singular, exclusive power of the One who created everything that we see and don’t see, we have no desire to pursue any other practices that this pagan world likes to call spiritual. From meditation to rituals, none of it produces a relationship with God.

The only way to establish a relationship with God is to answer his calling for us to love one another. When we do, God’s grace operates in us and we are blessed with a life of joy and peace.

And Jesus, who is God incarnated, is the perfect model of how a human can be that God provided so that we can emulate him.

But we can’t emulate him out of our own efforts. We have to believe in him and allow him to make his home in us. Then we will reflect his love and shine like luminaries in this dark world.

Forgiveness is an act of conscience, not feeling

If we relied on feelings to forgive people who hurt us, we would rarely forgive anyone. God calls us to forgive everyone, everyday, including ourselves. And that is possible because genuine forgiveness is an act of conscience that we exercise with God as our helper.

There isn’t a worse type of slavery in this world than an unforgiving heart. It wraps us and drowns us in darkness, bitterness, hopelessness and an overwhelming feeling of evil. And yet we all suffer from that.

Only God can heal our unforgiving hearts. And it is through his Grace that he can set us free by infusing us with the loving conscience to forgive. All we have to do, as always, is to be willing. And God will make everything else possible.

We need spiritual intelligence to have a loving conscience

In a world that worships the intellect and becomes blinded by its selfish pursuits, it is a challenge for intellectuals to have a spiritual life. I know it was for me.

I was an intellectual until my conversion. After my conversion, my intellect became only a shadow of the eternal possibilities I have gained by being lead by love instead.

And yet spirituality must be intelligent to allow us to believe in the impossible, through faith.

In this world, people tend to be either fundamentally rational, like most intellectuals. Or fundamentally emotional. These may be worldly intelligences, but neither leads to the truth.

Is it only true for you when it touches your heart?

Is it only true for you if you can intellectually dissect and explain it based on the systems of this world?

Remember, feelings are worldly. Just like the world, they will come and go. Similarly, the intellect has limits and will pass.

Truth can only be experienced through the lens of a love that is conscious. Because God is love and he expresses the divine power of his love by imparting himself as spiritual conscience in us.

We access this spiritual conscience when we receive spiritual intelligence through a calling. It is in our conscience that his word of truth is imprinted, with his eternal ink of love.

If it glows, then it is Love

We all have tasted loneliness at some point in our lives.

It isn’t simply about not having company, but about having quality company that does us good. And that is not easy to find.

But the good news is, we are far from being alone. And this loneliness that clouds our judgment and keeps us from seeing with the eyes of faith can be defeated.

So how do we defeat it? Well, the answer is: we don’t. It is the One who made us with unconditional love who defeats it. But he can only defeat our loneliness when we humbly accept his love.

Our lives are transformed when we become conscious of this love and gain the confidence, through faith, that we are not alone.

When we follow his ways, there’s no reason to feel lonely, because he gives us every opportunity to be with others who reflect his love.

Yet if we still feel lonely at times, we just have to call his name and he will be there through the people he brings into our lives.
